Warrnambool CBD bus interchange at Lava Street

After more than a year since the city’s main bus interchange moved to Lava Street Council wanted to know how residents felt about the new location.
It was to be a short-term arrangement however passengers and traders have become accustomed to the bus interchange in Lava Street.
At its meeting in October 2018, Council expressed an intention to plan future improvements in Koroit Street without including a bus interchange.
Warrnambool City Council Director City Infrastructure Scott Cavanagh said that while the move was originally made out of necessity, many users seemed to welcome the change.
“Anecdotally, we have heard that some people are in favour of retaining the bus interchange at its current location in Lava Street, just east of Liebig Street,” he said.
“Now it’s time to canvas the entire community, including public transport users, bus line operators and CBD businesses, and see what they think.”
