Amendment C103warr to the Warrnambool Planning Scheme is currently on public exhibition.
The Amendment seeks to implement the key findings of the Warrnambool Eastern Activity Centre Structure Plan 2016 (Structure Plan).
The Amendment affects land within the Eastern Activity Centre (EAC), land generally from Gateway Road, to Horne Road/Mahoneys Road in the east, and from Dales Road south to the railway corridor.
The Amendment is proposed to set the policy direction within the Local Planning Policy Framework for the EAC, which includes a vision and implementation strategies for the area.
A Design and Development Overlay is proposed to be applied to existing commercial areas to guide the design and built form of new commercial and office development.
A Development Plan Overlay is proposed to be applied to residential land on the south side of Raglan Parade (71 and 83 Raglan Parade, Warrnambool) to provide guidance on future subdivision and development outcomes for the land.
The Amendment does not include rezoning at this stage but sets the framework for future rezonings in accordance with the Structure Plan.
